Mawson states:—The “Discovery” is now in tlfe open pack north of the Antarctic coast. •j; A howling blizzard with thick falling snow is at prpesent dominating activities. By means of wireless yve|located the “Kosmos” sixty miles westward. Coal was needed and the Captain of the “Kosmos” said that lie ..could spare fifty tons. As we stood hjya. large tanker arrived from Europe to takp hack a shipment of oil. Thus from our icy wilderness we suddenly fourid ourselves amongst a fleet of ships‘ and { hive of industry.
McKay’s notify that from now on they are not allowing any gloves or hosiery out; on. approval.—Advt.
