ATTACK ON RECORD
NEW BRITISH CAR. TRIAL ASSEMBLY MADE. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Dec. 30. In the last few days mechanics have made a trial assembly of the car in which Captain Malcolm Campbell will attack, at Daytona Beach, the late Sir Henry eSagrave’s speed record. There are twenty eyclinders in the 1400 h.p. engine, which, although twice as powerful as an express railway engine, is only five feet long and three •feet wide. The engine was designed originally for a Napier seaplane in the Schneidor Trophy race. The special permission of the Air Ministry has been obtained, for its use. A series of experiments on streamlining were carried out by models in a wind-tunnel, and this preceded the construction of a chassis and body. Resistance lias been reduced to miniliium. Captain Campbell hopes to reach a speed of more than four miles a minute.
