TAX LIKELY TO BE INCREASED. A SUSTENANCE ALLOWANCE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) i' II RISTCTIU ROH. Dec. 30. Air AY. E. Leadle.v, a. ’member of the Unemployment Board told membu's of the. Christchurch Unemployment Committee that the proceeds of the present tax of 3(fs per year were not nearly sufficient to provide either work or feusitenance for all those in tbe Dominion who 'were sadly in need of it. There was nothing surer, lie added, than that the levy would be increased bv the next session ol Parliament. Air Lcadlev also made it clear that the Unemployment Board realising that it might not be able to find work for all those who wanted it, was making provision for sustenance payments, but there would be adequate safeguards against these deteriorating into the dole,
