Commenting on the statement that the Nottinghamshire Cricket Committee lias asked him to resign the captaincy of the county team, A W. Carr says that his amvser hints at a flat refusal. Cairr is a well-known amateur who lias captained England. “If they want to sack me why don’t they come out into the open and say so? I am. not hurt because it seems they want to depose me, hut I object to the underhand way somebody is trying to do it. , “I have never felt more qualified to lead the team.” he added. “I will certainly exercise my birth qualification and play for Surrey if necessary.”
