PICTURE ENTERPRISE
WESTERN ELECTRIC INSTALLED* The ' management of Everybody’s Pictures is leaving no stone.unturned to meet the requirements of the picture going public at the Princess Theatre. Within the last 48 hours there has been installed at the Theatre the very latest type of Western Electric talking equipment, which is going to enable the public to enjoy to the fullest all the latest pictures, of the hour. The machine is to be. \ready for; this evening’s programme, which will be all produced from sqund film pictures, the first of the kind shown here. The programme will now include regularly the sound gazette news which is always in favour with a picture audience, reproducing the news of the world in actual speech and sound in addition to the • movement. • Sound cartoons of the latest type wall, be produced also, thus giving added variety to the programmes. To-night’s programme will be of special interest, and particulars of same appear in another column.- ' In the change over from the Yitaphone production to that of the Western Electric, there is an .entire new plant installed, even.; to , the screen, which has to he of a special type for effective sound reproduction, "( The horn is a very large one, and the sound comesj through the (screen. The pUnt is entirely first hand- and. is very costly not only for installation, ./but also for maintenance. The projecting box has had to be further' enlarged for the purpose also, and nothing is being spared in time or money to ensure a highly successful presentation. Improvements and developments; of the talking machines have been moving very steadily of late, and the machine now being installed here is the very latest turned out by the patentees, including all the v latest additions (/-to perfect both operation and production. There is quite-a large amount of plant involved in. the installation, which is in the hands of a visiting expert, Mr Lynch representing the West- . era Electric Company. From information supplied, it would appear that - the public could not be better catered for in the matter of the plant, and such evidence of the desire of the management : to -please '■ and entertain, should be -well responded to by the theatre going public. Patrons may reserve seats as usual at Mclntosh’s shop adjoining the theatre.
