RANGITIKI ARRIVES
BIG MAIL ON BOARD. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 24. Some hours later than anticipated the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rangitiki arrived in the stream fiom London early this morning. It was originally intended that the steamer would reach Auckland yesterday, hut adverse weather conditions four days off the New Zealand coast prevented it. The vesesl had 415 passengers on board, *203 of whom were for .Auckland. 11 for Australia, and 261 for places south of Auckland. Arl alignments were made for all the southern passengers to leave by the Main Trunk express to-day. The Rangitiki had 1200 bags of English mail for New Zealand. Of that number 500 bags were letters and firstclass matter. The Rangitiki’s passenger list included many distinguished visitors who wore making their first visit to New Zealand. There were also quite a number of tourists and returning New Zealanders. Mr George P. Warren, of Perthshire, Scotland, has come on a holiday visit to his brother, Major AYarren. of Te Ante, and his son, Mr Russell Warren., of Waipukurau. He is accompanied by Mrs Warren, and intends to remain in Now Zealand for four montbfi,. . Dr J. C. Pan-man, of Christchurch, and Mrs .Pairnum voturnbd, after having spent several months in England and on the Continent. Dr Pairmail whilst in England took a postgraduate course, in several hospitals. He is very interested in music, and took opportunities on the Continent of visiting many conservatorimnfi.
