DUTY ON SHEEP SKINS
ACTION AT MELBOURUNE. (Australian Press Association) MELBOURNE,., December 24 The resolution of the House of Representatives imposing an export duty of one halfpenny per pound- on sheep skins led to an unexpected development in the High Court, which,had to ;e specially summoned to ■ deal with the situation which arose. i. Dewez and Comapny, J Melbourne issued a writ against the Commonwealth Government and against J. Musgrove claiming an injunction to restrain defendants, or its servants or agents, from imposing, demanding or collect in's the export duty of a halfpenny per pound on sheepskins with wool exported from the Commonwealth by plaintiffs. The Court made an order that the Collector of Customs should give security to abide by the result of any proceedings 1 mentioned in the Customs Act by applicant such security to consist of payment into Court to the credit of this "matter’of a IT; duties* paid by applicant with respect to sheep- ‘ '
