THE WATERLOW CASE
BIG FIGURES. [United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.! (Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, December 23. In connection with ! the Wnterlow cane, shorthand notes of each day's proceeding were transcribed and in rending them the judge totalled more than six hundred thousand words. The firm of Waterlow has capital of £1,770,000, a reserve fund of sixteen hundred and twenty thousand and paid a 12} dividend in 1928-29. Six figure damages are o" the rarest, but there was a‘case in March where a. settlement was effected for three hundred and twenty five thousand. Much higher sums have been awarded by arbitration.
