BROKEN HILL MINERS
REFUSE OWNERS TERMS.
(Australian Press Association)
(Received this day at 10 30 a.m.) • SYDNEY, December 22.
Brokefi Hill Workers’ Industrial Union at a largely attended meeting rejected the proposals of the mining companies in regard to wages and conditions for the new year.
Several other unions conditionally accepted the proposals but their acceptance means nothing, as the "miners hold the key to the situation and their definite refusal of entertainment of the terms practically means the closing of industries. The decision has put a damper on the city and Christmas will be anything but a bright one as so many additional men are faced with unemployment.
