CAPE TO CAIRO BY AIR
A REGULAR. SERVICE. TRAVEL LING. TIME CUT TO ELEVEN DAYS. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 17. Replying to a question in the House of Commons, Mr A. F. Montague, Under-Secretary for Air, stated that negotiations had been completed for a Jjegular air mail service ,from Cairo to the Cape. The northern section would probably begin to be operated in February. The Cairo-Cape air service is heralded by commercial air circles as an outstanding enterprise. Linking with the Indian air mail service, it will reduce they transit time between London and Cape Town to eleven days. The ground organisation along the route, which measures 5700 miles, is being /■ developed rapidly. It involves the es*tablishmetit of twenty-seven ait*, stations with hangers, wireless, weather offices, staff quarters, and in some cases hotels. There are also thirty intermediate lauding grounds,
