FISHERMAN’S FIND. SHARK WITH WRISTLET WATCH. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, December 18. Charles Messenger, a well known shark fisherman, cut open a monster which he caught and found inside a lady’s handbag containing a wrist watch, which was still going. RAIN CAUSES DAMAGE. SYDNEY, December 18. Nearly a week’s rain has left a trail of damage in the western and southern areas of the State. Wheat is ruined or suffered serious deterioration, and harvesting is - delayed. WAGE TAX INCREASE. SYDNEY, Dec. 18. A bill, increasing the wages tax from threepence to a shilling in the pound passed all stages in the Assembly. TORNADO VISITATION. SYjDNEY, Dee. 18. A tornado, unparallelled in fury, struck Taimvorth. 'Hie wind was ever sixty miles an hour. There are Hoods and rains. Roofs were lifted bodily. The bulk store of Regan Limited was blown down, and fences and trees toms up. A flying corrugated iron roof struck the electric cables depriving the town of light and power. A man sleeping on a verandah when the tornado struck the house was swept into the street, bed and all. A Mudgee message states a- party of eighteen, including twelve children, who are touring the country in search of work, are marooned on a strip of land between Cudgegong rive r and Lawson’s creek by the flood. Too Water Police effected a rescue in the nick of time,
