FOG CAUSES FATALITIES. [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Received this day at 10 a.m.) LONDON, December 17. A dense Blackish fog is spreading over London and the midlands. In addition it is causing many traffic accidents and delays. It was responsible for John Cartledge, an engine driver, Frederick Walker, a shunter, and Henry "Wilkinson, a tipper, being instantaneously burned to death owing to the over-turning of a wheeled ladle which contained molten metal, at Old Appleby Works on a slag hank. An empty train, having, tipped out its slag, collided while descending the hank with an invisible upcoming train hauling three ladles, the first of which tipped into the engine cab in which the victims were riding.

The Speaker in the Diet presented a minute regarding the treatment of a number of opposition deputies, who were incarcerated in a military prison at Brest Litovsli. They are said to have been beaten unconscious and forced to wash floors and corridors until /exhausted. They were imprisoned in the darkest cells and received only bread and, warm salt water. They were beaten through wet clothing so their bruises would not show. A motor was set in motion to drov n their cries. r
EXPRESS COLLISION. NINE-KILLED. MADRID, December 17, The Austrian express collided with a goods train near Santitianez. Nine were killed and eighteen were taken to the hospital. It is feared four are still buried.' 111
