LATE LOCALS.
Mr C. T. Rix (Christchurch) has advised the West Coast Cricket Association that he will be bringing a team to the West Coast during the holiday period, and has asked that a match be arranged for Saturday, December "2/th. It was intended to play at Hokitika on the day following the match at Greymouth. Arrangements are being made to play the. visting team, on the date suggested.
Judging by the nominations received by the Westland Racing Club for their Summer Meeting on December 26th and 27th, the West Const holiday circuit will account for a large gathering or horses from various parts of the Sbuth Island, says the Christchurch “Press.” In addition to the usual strong representation from Riccarton, horses trained at Tautnarunui, Wingatui and Wash’ dyke figure in the list. The Riccarton contingent comprises :—Minerval, Ring ing Cheer, The Raider, Charmeuse. Kentish Lady, Solwit, Tariff, Eaton Hall, Rapina,' Rarno, Grand Acre, Audience, Beau Goste, Pangolin, Sapient, Flair, Miss Mercia, Sleipner, Aberfeldy Giggleswick, Mime, Tip Tree, General Assembly, and Arrow Maid. There are 78 horses nominated for the Hokitika race meeting.
