MINIATURE GOLF CLUB
Consternation has been caused annust those interested in miniature gglf by the report that an action is pending for the granting of patent rights in all forms or miniature goli courses in New Zealand.
This move, it is stated, follows a similar action in Australia where patent rights are expected to bo granted by the end of this month. “Any enclosed outdoor area for putting” is embodied in the letters patent, though the position of indoor courses is also under review. When the first counse was erected in 1022 the National Pipe Products Company of Rochester, Pennsylvania, bought the scheme and arranged for patents. Now action has been launched in their behalf. In June last a representative of the company visited Australia and applied for patents. It is foreshadowed that owners of miniature courses will soon have to pay royalties for the permission to use the patented r.giits.
