MARCONI PROPHESIES.
“Great strides will be made in commeicial wireless. I am aware of certain imperfections in this direction, .but they will be removed during the next few years. Secrecy ip essential in these communications,” says Marchese Marconi in a telephone talk to the “Sunday Express.” “Experts will concentrate on the perfection of the beam system. Wireless communications will be sent through uarrow channels in the ether, ju.nt as water is sent through a pipe. They are at present too much spread all round, like water from a leaky main. This diffusion involves greater expense in 1 •ansmission. That expense will h? cut down. Wireless messages of the future v*ill lie .confined to narrow paths, and the present spreading over file ether will be removed. Messages will increase to an immeasurable extent owing to these improvements, and the man who thinks it a luxurv to-day to send birthday greetings from England to Australia, by wireless will in the next decade think no more of it than, if lie were sending a shilling telegram. Everything in the world of wireless will he cheaper.”
