LORD BARN BY AT MASSEY. COLLEGE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Dec. 8. The extent of the thoroughness of wool research work, being carried out at Massey College ,surprised Lord Barn by, a noted expert, when he visited the College. He prolonged his stay because of his deep interest, discussing over three hours with Professor Peren and eight members of the wool research staff, detail of experiments n hand to improve N.Z. wools. The.work Lord Barn by told an interviewer, carried out -was an eye opener and no praise was too high for it. He had made very minute investigations into scientific research activities. He was convinced that the staff was proceeding on the right lines and the ultimate result of their investigateions should he a considerable benefit, not only to wool growers, hut also to the textile manufacturers.

The location, surroundings and generappearance of the college buildings also favourably impressed the visitor who said it denoted the earnest desire, on the part of the Government to foster the highest aims of agriculture, Professor Peren said that the staff profited considerably by the views expressed by Lord Barn by, who had approached the subject frojn the prianpfppHirers’ viewpoint,
