FRIDAY, DECEMBER oth. The Board met at 4.30 p.m. Present: Messrs At. li. Houston (Chairman), "Richards, Mclntosh, Stuart and Hetman. The minutes were confirmed and correspondence outward approved. A motion of svmathy wap carried with Dr Teichelmann in his illness, and wishing him a speedy recovery from his'.severe illness. IN W ART) (T)R.RES P( )XDENOE.
A number of formal letters and circulars were received,
A petition signed by AY, Ziegler and twenty-two other ratepayers asked for the rubbish dump to closed owing to the very offensive conditions prevailing.—Received. It was resulted on the motion of Mr Heenan, .seconded by tb.e Chairman, that permission to use the dump be terminated from this date, the road be closed ami a copy oi the petition to he sent to the Borough Council, with a request to send a man to cover the offensive
matter up. Accounts amounting to £3l lip Ocl were passed for payment. From Signalmvan reporting a good channel running straight out to sea carrying 11 to 12 feet of water.—Received. The Board then rose.
