HOSPITAL BOARDS’ FEAR. WELLINGTON. Dec. 3. At a meeting of the Executive oi the Hospitals Boards various phases of the unemployment question were discussed. It. was mentioned that the Government would .be well advised to take steps to restrict the influx of unemployed from other countries, which might occur as the natural result of the unemployed problem being substantially relieved in this country. The residential clause in the Unemployment Bill would have the effect, it was felt, of throwing the liability on the Hospital Boards in the case of indigent new arrivals, and the relief which the Hospital Boards hoped to obtain 1111tlie Unemployment Act might thereby to a certain extent, he cancelled.
