The Prime Minister. Air MacDonald, had a conference with the miners. It lasted for two hours alter winch, Air Graham, (President of the Board of Trade) and Mr S-himvell (Under •Secretary for Aiiii.es), ifo>nferred for a further hour with the Miners. The A 1 mister urged the necessity of giving the Act time to succeed. The Aimer’s delegate came away perplexed, and they were merely able to repeat Air MacDonald’s opinion to miners; /but it is nob expected that they will be able to overcome the miner’s opposition to the spread over of hours. The Miners’ Conference rejected aproposal for a national strike by 230 to 209 thousand votes.
