BRISBANE, December 2. In the Sheffield cricket match against New South Vf ales, Queensland in the first innings Scored 687 runs, which is a record for a Sheffield Shield match at Brisbane. The remaining scores are: Thompson (not out) 275. Benstead 52, Hu rwood 47.

In the bowling, Hunt took 4 for 128, Chilvers 2 for 209, and Stewart 2 for 83. Fairfax did not get a solitary wicket. New South Wales in their second innings at stumps had lost five wickets for 159. Jackson and McCabe each scored 53 runs. This match has been remarkable for phenomenal scoring. Thompson’s achievement caused the wildest cheering. The spectators carried him shoulder high.
