A sitting of the .Magistrate’s Court wa.s held at Ross on Saturday morning, Messrs G. H. Chapman and J. Murdoch being the presiding Justices. Police v. J. Rea allowing stock to wander in Ross Borough. .Fined .5s and costs.

Police v. J. Anderson—similar charge, fined 5s and costs. Police v. Charles Clare, charged with using obscene language, in a public place and also using threatening language. Defendant pleaded guilty, stating he was under the Influence of drink at the time or it would not have happened. ’Hie accused con sen ted to a orohibition order being issued against him. and as this was-a second similar offence within a few months, lit* was fined £lO and costs 10s on the first charge and convicted and to pay 10s on the second charge. The Bench intimated that if he came before the Court again on a similar charge not to expert to be let off with a fine,
