GIRL SHOOTS MAN

AND THEN SUICIDES

(Australian Press Association.)

SYDNEY, Nov. 27

The dead bodies of a young, couple were found at a lonely 7 portion of La Perouse, the Sydney suburb, adjacent to Botany Bay to-day. Both were shot. The victims are; Waldeman Oslinder, aged 29, an engineer, and Winifred Ryan, aged eighteen. The police theory is that the pair drove to La Perouse in a. car I apt night, and that OsTinder attempted a criminal offence on the girl Ryan, who, in defence of her honour, shot him through the back. Portions of the man’s clothing was taken off.

The girl’s body was a short distance from the car. She had a bullet wound in the head, and there was a revolver near her left hand. A medical examination disclosed that (Minder died before midnight, and that the girl died early in the morning.

SYDNEY, Nov. 28

In connection with the La Perouse Tragedy, the police have ascertained that Ryan had been friendly with (Minder for a couple of years. She apparently deliberately shot him, either through jealousy, or as the result of a quarrel, vising a revolver taken from her employer’s office. Slip afterwards nursed him, and later suicided. The original theory in regard to defending her honour is discounted.
