CHRISTCHURCH, November 27.

AY'lliam Robert Sharp, a labourer, 30 was admitted to probation for twelve months, by Alagistrate Mosely to-day, on a charge of threatening behaviour. Sharp was originally charged with demanding money by menace, having threatened pedestrians in Alanchester Street, but the charge was reduced by tli Magistrate to threatening behaviour.

Mayor Baildon expresses surprise at the smallness of the Unemployment Board’s for the ’Xmas relief grant and said it meant all local bodies throughout New Zealand were invited to subscribe £12,'500 to earn £25,000. This was for too small. There w;\[s a possibility that much more money might he voted in the aggregate than was allotted, and it might come to a question of rationing. PIG BREEDERS ASSOCIATION PALMERSTON N., November 27. At the conference of Pig Breeders it was decided to form an Association for co-operative marketing in this district. A committee was appointed to further the organisation.
