WEDDING BELLS
BANNISTER —MAN ERA. Holy Trinity Church Greymouth with its decorations of early spring flowers, to match the colouring of the bridal group, formed a picturesque and charming setting for a wedding of widespread interest, which was celebrated yesterday afternoon. The bride was M ss Phyllis Mary Lorna Manera, second daughter of Air and Airs •Joseph Alanera . iof Kakapotahi, South Westland, and ithe bridegroom, Air David Bannister, the well-known sportsman, also of South Westiand. 'Pile ceremony was performed by the ” Rev. Air Mountford, and the wedding music was played by Air Savage. The bride who entered the church on the arm of -Mr J. O’Brien M.P., wore a graceful frock of ivory crepe satin The t;ght-fitting bodice, made with long sleeves, was trimmed with silver lace, and the flared skirt fell to the ankles in folds. A court train of the same material slurred in scallops at tlie end and trimmed with diamante trimming was held in place with a diamente ornament. Her silver embroidered veil, which fell from » scalloped 'fan effect was ‘ held with a coronet of orange blossoms and silver tassels. She carried a sheaf of white roses and maidenhair fern. The three bridesmaids who attended her were, . Alisa Ernestine Lalot, of Christchurch „ Alisa Violet Haines of Hokitika (cousr . in of the bride),, and Miss Dulcle Hoclgkinsou of Greymouth, wearing frocks of powdered blue, .lemon and salmon pink satin respectively, suitably fashioned with tight fitting bodices, long sleeves and ankle-length flared sk'rts; juliet caps to match the frocks were also worn and they carried bouquets of shell pink tea roses, and maidenhair fern, with streamers to match their frocks. Litt'e Hazel Jackson was a miniature edition of the bridesmaids, her frock of jul et style, with cap of apricot, being trimmed with rosebuds. She also carried a .posy of beautiful roses. Also in attendance was little Alfie Jackson as pageboy, wearing white satin trousers and shjrt with silk ruffles. The best man, was Air G. Bannister,, and the groomsman was Air Joseph Manera, brother of the bride.
The bridal party left the church to thi strains of the wedding march. Following the ceremony a reception was held at Herb Aloore’s cafe. Mrs Manera receiving the guests in a navy celanese satin frock, with oriental trimmings, with hat- and shoes to tone, and carried a bouquet of red roses. Airs G. Malloy, sister of the bride, wore a frock of navy crepe de chine, with fawn trimming and | blue hat. The happy couple left for the north on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in. a green morocain frofikp wth hat to match, and black satin coat, with a long stole fur.
