RADIO PROGRAMME
(Supplied by the Radio Broadcasting Company of N.Z. Ltd.) SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd. Mister Ree, will be broadcasting again from IYA this evening. Madame Dorothy Cronin, one of Auckland’s leading sopranos, Mrs Hal.. McLennan, Mr Arthur Wright, bass-baritone, singer of rollicking songs and Mr T. T. Garland, humorist, will also be contributing. Orchestral selections will be ployed by the IYA String Octet. 2YA will relay the. Wellington Harmonic Society’s final concert of the 1930 Season. An excellent programme of part songs, choral and solo items has been arranged. The choir will perform under the bnton of Mr H. Temple White. The supporting artists will ho'Mr Leon de Mauny (violinist) and Miss Mvra Sawyer (vocalist). The Christchurch Optimists Club will provide 3YA’s and 4YA’s concert. The Optimists have on a previous occasion entertained listeners with an excellent programme, which will he excelled on this occasion. There will be some very popular choruses. The soloists will include Miss Marjorie Nelson (soprano), Mrs b. M. Kerr (contralto), Mr W. J. Spratt (baritone) Mr O. M. Jones (baritone), Mr .1. L. ’Tennant (bass baritone) and “Optimist Jim.” A banjo and banjotlene trio, consisting of Misses E. Churchill and M. and L. Straw, will contribute items. Mr Mark Richards*, a very capable elocutionist, is also on the programme which will also include a number of specially selected records.

MONDAY, 24tli NOVEMBER
Misses Gwladys Edwards and Hilda Chudley and Messrs Claude Moss and Charles Edwards will be the contributing vocalists in the programme to lve given by 2YA this evening. The items for the most part will lie of a classical nature. Elocutionary numbers w'il! be given by Miss Rose Carte. An interesting feature of the instrumental portion of the programme will he a four ’cello number played by Mr Claude Tanner, Misses Iris Lawson, Katherine Goodson and Mr Alex Blyth. The item in question, a “Serenade” by Lachner. is being Ibroadcast for the first time in New Zealand on this occasion.' The Orchestrina, under Signor A. P. Truth, will play supporting numbers. The monthly talk on boohs will V given from 3YA by Mr E. E. Wiltshire. President of the Linwood Public Library. Mr J. Scott,, conductor of Derry’s Military Band, has arranged a well diversified programme 1-r this evening at 3YA and included in the supplementary list of artists u; i !>-, Miss Addie Campbell, who was known in Australia as “The Bendigo Nightingale,” Mr Geo. Titchener thui,io ij;t) and the Christchurch Broadcasting Trio.
iA concert to be given in the Dunedin Town Hall by the R.oyal Dunedin Male Choir will be broadcast by 4YASome specially fine chorus work will'be heard in “Christmas Eve,” “Damascus,” “The Cloud Capped Towers,’ “The Orpheus,” “Shenandoah.” “Ring Out Wild Bells” and “Loch Lomond.” The soloists will be: Signorina Rosso (soprano), Mr A. Romoril (baritone), Mr G. Dunne (baritine), Mr W Smith (French born) and Mifis Eva Judd violin). Silent day at IYA.
