MEAT STRIKE
—- , PEOPLE GO FOR FISH. (Australian Press Association) I SYDNEY, November 21. No further attempt has been made to, settle the Sydney meat strike. Supplies of chilled and frozen mutton are now being drawn upon in the metropolitan area. The consumers are not over partial to the frozen meat, and they are accordingly making extensive purchases of fish and tinned products.
There is a danger of the strike extending to other States in the event of attempts being made to bring fresh meat supplies theretfrom. It is understood that some such supplies are now on the way.
Judge Piddington has fixed Tuesday for the hearing of the carcase butchers’ application for the deregistration of the Meat Employees’ Union for disobedience of award provisions.
