WEDDING BELLS

ROONEY—BOYD.

St. Mary’s Church, Rimu, was beautifully decorated on Wednesday morning for the marriage of Mary, the sec. one! daughter of Mr and. Mrs William Boyd, of Rimu, and Edward, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs James Rooney of KJaniorb Rev, Father O’Doherty performed the ceremony and celebrated the Nuptial Mass, The bride, escorted by her father, entered the church to the strains of the Bridal March, Bbe was gracefully attired in an ankle length frock of white crepe satin fashioned on simple lines. Her veil was handsomely embroidered and fell in graceful folds to the ground. It was held in place by a coronet of pearls. Her silver shoes and stockings completed a charming toilet. She also carried a shenf of lilies the gift of her cousin (Miss Mary Ryan), The bride was attended by her sister, Dorothy, who wore a powder blue georgette’ frock, fully flared and hat and shoes to tone. She carried a bouquet of hot house flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Tony Boyd, coußin of the bride, As the happy couple left the church the Wedding March was played, Mrs W. Knowles presiding at the organ.

The wedding reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mrs Boyd receiving her guests in a model frock of nut brown satin beaute and hat to match. She carried a posy of carnations.

Mrs Rooney, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart check costume. The bridal couple were the recipients of many and costly presents including cheques. The handsome wedding cake was the grit of a friend. Many congratulatory messages were received by the happy couple, f The bride travelled in a snxe-blue georgette frock over which she wore a smart tweed coat.
