MAYOR IN PRISON.

NOT DEPRIVES OF OFFICE

BERLIN, November 4

A prison cell will be the municipal headquarters of the town of Ivlotzsche for the next seven months, and the bur gomaster, Herr Angennann, has taken up his residence there. The burgomaster was sentenced for running down and killing two people with his motor car. The Minister for Home Affairs sought to deprive him of his mayoralty, but the court ruled that the sentence did not affect the honour of Herr Angennann. His fellow-citizens passed a vote of confidence in him, and he retains the if nil salary of his office, as well as free quarters.
