OFFICER ASSAULTED

STOWAWAY FIXED. AUCKLAND, Nov. 17. A ship’s steward, Frederick Brodwiek; aged 27, appeared before : Air F. K. Hunt, S.AJ.,. at the Alagistrale’s Court, charged with assaulting George Saunders, patrol-officer of the ;;Nia gara, on, the high seas. Accused: was further charged with stowing; a\vay| on the Niagara at Sydney last -Thursday, lie pleaded guilty to both charges.
