VISIT TO SMITHFIELD

Hon. Geo. Forbes, accompanied by Mr Forsyth, visited Smithfield, where they were welcomed by Mr Conoley (Chairman of. the Markets Committee) and numerous salesmen. Mr Conoley p'aid a high tribute to the quality of New Zealand meat. Mr Forbes said he was gratified to learn, first hand, that New Zealand produce was so good, and he hoped that' the increasing supplies < would meet with the Bame good market, and much of the success was clue to the Dominion’s representation, notably the goodwil that Forsyth had established. Forbes spent the afternoon at the Ministry of Agriculture’s quarantine station at E : ast Indies docks, inquiring of the possibility for modifying New Zealand’s embargo against the importation of stud stock from Britain, MR FORBES’ MOVEMENTS. LONDON. Nov. 17. Mr Forbes spends 19th November in Edinburgh, 20tjh November in Glasgow, next week-end at Leeds, 24fh November at -Bradford, 25th November at Liverpool, 26th November at Manchester, returning to London on 2tfth (November. He Spends ,■December Ist in Dublin, 2nd December in Belfast, arriving back in London on 4th December.
