FIRE SUPERINTENDENT’S ACT

WELLINGTON, November II

The Lower Hutt Borough Council decided that in the event of the Royal Humane Society not being able to see its way clear to reward Deputy-Super-intendent Slinn’s bravery at a recent fire., in which he and .fireman Hutton were badly burned, the council will re-

cognise his bravery in a permanent way.

Mr Slinn rescued Hutton, who was overcome by smoke after entering the house. Both men, it was stated, wore making a wortderful recovery. The brigade is a voluntary service.
