Formal recognition by the Norwegian Government of the Canadian title to the Arctic Islands of A lex he i berg, EllelTinges, Amundringnes and King Christa in, known as the Severdrup Group, was announced on Tuesday. This removes one possible ground of dispute as to Canadian sovereignity in the whole of the Arctic Section north of the Canadian mainland. BUTTER ASSESSAIENT. (Received this day at 10.30 a.m.) VANCOUVER, November 12. Two thousand cases of Australian butter arriving by the Aorangi is assessed at dumping duty of six and a-half cents a pound. New Zealand butter on the same vessel is assessed at eight cent a pound. There is an apprehension that New Zealand butter may be shipped as Australian to secure the lower rate. The Government is planning precautionary regulations. ABATE RESCUED. VANCOUVER, November 12. Joseph Grove, mate of the schooner Brooklyn was rescued at sea seventy houry after the wreck.
