LOAN COUNCIL
28 MILLION LOAN APPROVED. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 19.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, November 12. An official report by the Loan Council state tbe Council approved of the raising of tbe loan of twenty-eight millions sterling,—eighteen million six hundred thousand for the Commonwealth and nine million four hundred thousand for all States. Mr Lang moved that as tbe Council bad failed to provide for the carrying on of Public Works in New South Wales, the State should he allowed to borrow ior themselves.
Mr Hill South Australia, moved an ■amendment that it was not constitutionally possible to agree to Mr Lang’s motion. Mr Hill’s amendment was carried.
