N.Z. TOURIST OFFICE
TN HEART OF SYDNEY. (Ry Telegraph—Per Press Aseociation.) WELLINGTON, November 11. to the New Zealand Tourist Offices in' Sydney, Hon. Ah do la Perclle to-day said that many objections had been received from New Zealanders and others, that the old office situated on the third floor, of the London Bank Chambers in Martin Place, was not in a sufficiently prominent location, and it had been decided to seek now quarters when the Dominion’s chief trade representative in tin 1 Commonwealth, moved headquarters from Melbourne to Sydney. The new offices, said the Minister, were in a particularly prominent position, on the ground floor of the premises at the corner of Pitt Street and Martin Place, opposite the General Post Office. There were entrances from both streets, which were the ’.veil-known centres of tourist activities. Cl mills House was next door. The space available, though not extensive, would provide a satisfactory opportunity for displays of New Zealand’s attractions and resources. “A great deal of trouble has been
taken to fit up the- new offices in an attractive manner,” said Mr de la Perclle. “New Zealand timber lias been used for interior fittings and for furniture, and New Zealand made rugs will he placed on the floors. Pictures of New Zealand scenery and sporting trophies are being displayed, and the best possible use has been made of the window space available. Tt is estimated that 10,000,000 people passed the busy location of the offices each week.”
