In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia to-day ; New South Wales in the first innings made 228. Bradman scored 61, Fairfax 62 a’id Hooker 52. Deverson took 4 for 60, Carlton 4 for 28, and Tobin 2 for 75. South Australia in the first lost 5 for 74. Nitscbke made 29 not out. Stumps were then drawn. When Bradman appeared to bat, the South Australians gave him a mighty cheer. Kippax. who captained New South Wales, made nineteen. The weather was fine but dull. The wicket last but tricky.
