The Republicans and the Democrats are almost deadlocked in both the Senate and the. House.
The actual majorites hinge on a few final returns, and recounts. The Republicans now stand to gain ‘2lB votes for a majority in the House by victories in three normally Republie;an districts that are still involved in close contests. In the Senate the bid of Air Scholl. Republican, of Minnesota, to overtake the early lead of Mr Elmar Hoidale, the Democrat, gives the Republicans a bone of retaining half, or 48 out of the 96 Senate seats. STATE OF PARTIES.
