AUSTRALIAN LAMBS

BETTER TYPE URGED. (Australian Press Association) (Received 8.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 5. Mr R. P. Allen, chief veterinary officer of the Department of Markets, issued a report advising growers oi Australia to raise fat lamb for export of the type produced in New Zealand, which was the best in the world. He says the breeds are largely confined to the Downs type, also,, Border Leicester and Romney Marsh. He is of the opinion that production in many parts of Australia of the well formed nice sappy lambs with the maximum of bloom should not be difficult, and should seriously compete with New Zealand supplies.
