FACTORY FIRE

AUCKLAND, November 4
Fire caused extensive damage to upholstery, furniture and woodwork at the fatory of Tattusfield Limited, Grey Lynn. Six men who were working in the upholstery department on the top storey when the outbreak occurred, were forced to make a hurried exit, while a youth was affected by fumes, and had to be assisted from the building. The damage is estimated at between £3,500 and £4,000, and is covered by insurance.
AGRICULTURAL SHOW
PALMERSTON N., Nov. 5
The Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural Pastoral Association's Spring Show was opened in fine but dull weather. The juding of several classes is proceeding to-day. Increased entries have been received in stock classes, in which competition is very keen.
The Manawatu Kennel Club’s show is being held in conjunction with the (Spring Show.
INQUEST VERDICT
GISBORNE, Nov. 5:
At the inquest on the death of Edwin John Goldsmith, 41,' a dairy farmer, the Coroner found in accordance with the medical evidence, that death was due to pulmonary embolism of the left lung following injuries received by being gored by a bull, ~
