AUTOMOBILE CLUB. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 4. The (Chairman of the Wellington Automobile Clu-b, Mr A. E. Ba.tt, said at the annual meeting last evening that the membership of the Club had increased from fewer than twenty at its formation twenty-five years ago, to nearly five thousand. There were at present three service officers, and he believed one or two more should be appointed. , "fJ.• ’( In answer to ' a member-Mr Batt said he considered ,-the City'Council should enforce more firmly the by-law relating to the adjustment of head lights. Reference was made to the danger of cyclists riding at night without lights, and a recommendation was made that tile City Council be 'approached to have "it made "nJeessary for twelve inches of the rear mudguards of bicycles to be painted a suitable colour. MR H. E. HOLLAND. AUCKLAND, Nov. 3. Mr H. E. Holland, Leader ~pf. , the Labour Party, spent the week-end in Auckland. An account of the Labour Party’s attitude on questions which came before Parliament lust session was given by him in an address to trade unionists to-night. He said that the Labour Party had nothing to apologise for. _____
