BY MISSING MOTORIST

GISBORNE, November 2. Shortly before 8.30 on Saturday a man named David Clark, a roadman, in the employ of the Cook County Council, was found fatally injured on the bitumen road at Makaraka, some miles from Gisborne. A nearby farmer heard a crash, he went out and found Clark, who was unconscious, and died soon after. Clark was apparently struck from behind by some unknown motorist.

Clark was (57 years of age. He was born in Scotland, and is believed to have no relations in the Dominion.
