Good times were registered by competitors in the Palmerston North-Wel-lington road race conducted by the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association on Sat-
urday. The race was won by A. D. Arthui, a young Wellington rider, who turned into the Basin Reserve and rode his concluding lap to finish 5 hours 41 minhtes after he had originally set out. *
W. G. Russell, another Wellington rider, who was off the same mark, (60 minutes), as Arthur’s crossed the line some lour minutes later, and was
runner-up. The fastest time and the New Zealand 100 mile road championship was won by F. Grose, a Christchurch cyclist, who rode a really winderful race from the scratch mark. Grose put up a record time for the journey, and covered the course in 4 hours 58 minutes, 11 seconds. f Of the 42 riders who started at least 34 finished. .
