CRUELTY TO DOG
PENALTY REDUCED. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, October 31. A re-hearing of a case in which Albert Arthur Cousins was sentenced to seven days imprisonment this morning for mercilessly slaughtering a dog by causing it unnecessary suffering, was granted by the magistrate. The penalty was reduced to a fine of five pounds and costs. Mr Inder said that the accused’s employer was willing to pay the fine.
