WATAROA SPRING SALE

On Wednesday last, at the above yards the animal ;Spring Sale of South Westland cattle was held in fine weather and to a goods attendance of buyers and graziers. ■ The total entry was 256 head of cattle, 60 fat sheep and 1 horse. These figures are a long way below those of previous years and by no means sufficient for graziers’ requirements. In consequence there was keen competition for all lines.right from the opening of the sale. ' W. Jeffries and Co’si -entry comprised 159 cattle and they repo'rt. Forward hereforcl 4yr steers to -til3 17s 6d. Two and a-half to three year, ditto £l2 to £l2 17s 6d. Two year do. £9 to £lO 12s 6d. 1 Fat cows to £l3 2s 6d. Fat heifers to £lO 12s fid. Two year forward heifers £8 15s to £ll.

Cron : 7 hfrs. at £8 15s, 5 do. £lO 10s, 5 do. at £lO 12s fid, 1 cow at £l3 2s fid, 7 strs at £lO 12s fid, 8 do. at £l2, 1 do. at £l3 17s fid. On account J. Condon and Sons. 9 strs at £l2 17. s fid, 9 do. at £l2 15s, 8 hfrs at £ll. 9 do. at £lO 10s. On account of H. Mebarry 8 strs at £lO 2s fid. -On account Harris Bros. 6 stns at £9 7s fid, 7 do. at £lO, 6 hfrs at £8 10s. On account W. Berry fi strs. at £9, 16 18 month strs. at £6 2s 6d 17 do. at £B.
