At the Police Court, Wesley Dobson was fined £25 sterling and £5 1« costs for intoxication in charge of a car and was deli censed for fifteen months. He was also convicted anti ordered to come up for sentence for negligent driving. The case was the outcome of a collision in the borough on Monday night. Magistrate Orr-Walker said the aecused t was fortunate that lie had not killed someone, but perhaps unfortunate in not having killed someone, for in that ease he would have gone before a jury and no doubt would have been let off. Juries were not helping to put down tins' 1 business ot driving while intoxicated. Their decisions were noticeable throughout New Zealand. Fortunately a Magistrate had the opportunity of endeavouring to stop driving while intoxicated.
