Conservatives, increases enormously the importance of Thursday’s meeting. The news reached the press late and therefore there is no editorial comment, but the “Daily Telegraph’s” political editor understands Mr Baldwin is fully prepared to face not. only the. issue of the party policy but his own leadership, and will vacate the chair while the personal subject is discussed. •i Grettan-declared the statement, that forty-four Conservative members of the Commons had demanded a change of leadership, cabled yesterday, was unauthorised and incorrect. He declined to discuss the details.
