COTTON TRADE

SEVERAL MILLS TO REOPEN. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 24. The Secretary of State for Home Affairs and the President of the Board of Trade (Messrs J. R. Clviies and AV. Graham has concluded their discussions in Manchester with representatives of the cotton industry. They hoard the views of all sections of the trade on the recommendations of the report of the Government Committee, and a number of fresh points were raised. The discussions are to be continued, probably botn at a later stage they will take place between the Alinisters and smaller groups. The Board of Trade is now charged with the duty of helping forward rationalisation and several Lancashire cotton mills, including some which have been closed for two years, are shortly to reopen, in view of the somewhat improved outlook.
