IN BRAZIL
COUNTER REVOLTS. I United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. J RIO DE JANEIRO, October 27. The unsettled condition of Brazilian affairs was demonstrated to-day by two attempted counter revolts, both here and at Sao (Paulo. Military groups composed of supporters of the Luis Government, and of revolutionists opposed to the present provisional Administration, caused riots in both cities. The military junta quelled the disturbances at Sao Paulo more or less easily, but at Rio De Janeiro greater difficulty was experienced. In the latter city, the trouble centred in the Plaza Republic, from which mobs of lower class citizens spread and noted and looted. The Ministry despatched airplanes and soldiers to the centre of the disturbance, which was' finally quieted after many were wounded and an undetermined number were killed. The United Press Correspondent reports that he witnessed the ambush of a detachment of soldiers in Acclamation Park, but he was unable to determine the number of casualties.
