Two elderly men, Joseph Cunningham and John Tuack, both farmers of Croyden, were seriously injured in a level crossing smash at 6 o’clock last evening, when a truck driven by Tuack was struck by the InvercargillClinton goods train at Gore railway crossing.
Cunningham was pinned under the truck which was smashed almost beyond recognition. Tuack had a remarkable experience. He was thrown on to the cowcatcher of tlie engine and carried for several yards before the train, which was travelling, slowly pulled up.
