SEARCH FOR OIL

OPERATIONS AT MOTUROA

IMPORTANT STAGE REACHED

NEW PLYMOUTH, October 27. Moturoa Oil Fields have secured a flow of 500 gallons of high .grade oil from *.o. 1 bore. On Saturday afternoon a strong blow out of gas forced 400 gallons of fairly heavy oil up between the six add eight inch casings. This morning the bailer brought up 100 gallons of lightish green oil of a different nature and better quality than that which came up between the casings. Operations will be stopped for a few days to shift the formation between 2600 and 2660 feet with gelignite to allow the oil to reach the bore.
