ANOTHER MINE DISASTER
EIGHTY-TWO MEN ENTOMBED

AA’hile 150,C00 people were attending the funerals of the victims of the Alsdorf mine disaster, the news was received that a fire-damp explosion had occurred in the Maybeach Mine, near Saar-Bnieken, entombing 82 men. The first body was brought out at six o’clock this evening. The funerals of the Alsdorf victims lasted some hours, during which several hundred Communists appeared in the market place and played Communist airs. They came into collision with the police, who dispersed them. OVER HUNDRED DEATHS FEARED LONDON, October 26. News from Saar-Bruken states:— It is feared that over one hundred are dead at Maybach Mine, from which 20 dead have already been brought to the surface, and 90 arc still missing. It is believed that there is little chance of rescuing them alive. f'One of the miners states that the catastrophe was caused by the exploding of a- petrol locomotive in a side gallery, which in turn exploded the coal dust. Dense clouds of yellow smoke have appeared on the surface, indicating that the galleries are on fire.
